This year we checked out Blackberries of Houston. These bushes weren’t super tall, but still tall enough that I didn’t have to bend over much if I didn’t want to. Ollie’s ‘huh?’ face This morning we headed out to the Bayou City Farmer’s market to do a little shopping and meet up with some friends. I used to go to this market often when we lived closer. I couldn’t resist getting a quick shot of Aidan’s work. The only baby I see is the one he is in the process of covering up with the silk. All the same, the quoted phrase above is what he said, quite proudly, to [...] I’ll admit it. Growing up my main fruits were oranges, apples, bananas, watermelon, strawberries, grapes, bananas – you know the lot, nothing overly exotic or outside of what you would see in an average children’s book about common fruits. Imagine my surprise when I finally bit into the most humble-looking fruit I’ve ever seen. Persimmons [...] An evening of celebration over wine with a dear friend for her birthday… We finally got that recent photo that we wanted.

Of course, this may not have been possible without Grandmou in town to help with the boys. She also crocheted [...] Today, my sweet baby that I swear was just born a few weeks ago, is nine full months old. It’s bittersweet for sure. Going back to nine days before he made this accomplishment, he took his first steps. I couldn’t (and still can’t) believe it. He’s growing up so very fast. It just feels unfair. [...] We had a wonderful day with friends to celebrate Michaelmas. Yesterday, I finally got our nature ‘table’ set up and only added the dragon, as well as some candles that a friend brought over, today.
