Not much crafting has gone on lately. We’ve been quite busy these past few days. The boys and I finally got a chance to check out the newly remodeled Children’s Musuem and it’s amazing. Nature tables are common in waldorf education, and though we aren’t officially doing any kind of schooling, yet, it’s something that we are very interested in and a great way to get in tune with nature. Today I hosted an outing at Bayou Bend with the babywearers group. It was interesting how different it was this year compared to last. Last year, I got to tour all of the grounds and take my time meandering and chatting with friends. This year, even with my husband’s help, [...] For St. Patrick’s day, we largely ignored the holiday to meetup with our vegan playgroup and paint some wooden eggs. Another FO! I was able to finish this one in one evening. Those little cardboard sleeves seemed like such a waste (even when Recycled), so I decided to Reduce and knit one to Reuse. Now, if I could just make my own lattes. Anyhow, there are tons of patterns for them [...]
Homemade bread is a labor of love, but it’s really not difficult and it’s not really time consuming. You have short bursts of work and plenty of time to multitask while the dough rises. The aroma of bread baking in the oven is so soothing, warm, and inviting. It’s one of those things [...] This was such a fun, quick knit. It took me a week or so, but I have 2 demanding children. I used Rowan 4 ply that I got on closeout from WEBS. This is only the second project that I’ve knit entirely on dpns (double pointed needles.) Ultimately, I end up forgetting a few along the way and end up with one or two finished projects and a drought of ideas. Bummer. This is why I’ve started making lists.
