Mama’s workshop

…has come to a screeching halt.  Well, almost.   My sewing machine is acting up.  Thank goodness my knitting needles have no mechanical functions that break down or get fussy.     That said, I do have a few FO’s that I can share with you.

I made the boys some matching Christmas stocking hats.  I haven’t really made time for a photoshoot yet, so these photos will have to do.

Ollie’s first parade. ;)

From the front you can see the two-toned ribbing.  This was my first time doing it and I really like the effect.

Another project that I’m nearly finished weaving the ends on is an R2D2 beanie hat.  This was supposed to be a gift for my husband.  He has waited very patiently for me to get over myself about starting an intarsia project.  Well, I finished it and the hat looks perfect.  Unfortunately, the size is a better fit on my preschooler.  I’m not keen on remaking the chart and I feel like if I knit it on bigger needles/yarn the images will be more distorted.  Maybe it isn’t such a big deal.  It’s mainly rectangles and a few circles.  Sorry, husband!

This is what 23 + bobbins looks like hanging off a set of needles.

And this is my preschooler modeling the hat inside out so you can see ALL the ends that need to be woven in.  /faint…  I only have a handful left, so I’ll try to get that done tonight so that I can share the finished look with you tomorrow.  It’s funny that it fits my 2 year old, especially when we are trying to hard to keep his clothes and toys character and marketing free (says me while he’s clearly wearing a calvin klein t-shirt, lol.)  Can’t win ‘em all!
