Happy St. Nicholas Day!
We took the boys out to meet St. Nicholas today. Aidan’s first words to him were yelled across a bit of a distance, “I’m feeling a little shy!” Ha! Once he was feeling a little braver, he yelled out that he was a firefighter like his dad. Crazy kid! His actions proved that he really was feeling a bit shy, so we took our time and had little chats with St. Nicholas here and there as Aidan felt braver and braver. On the fourth or so visit with St. Nick on the porch, Aidan finally agreed to a quick picture and there it is!

And here is Oliver’s perfect shot.

Since this is our first year starting to celebrate St. Nicholas day, I wasn’t overly prepared. I completely forgot about leaving out a treat for St. Nicholas or his horse (or donkey.) Instead, I made sure to leave out one slipper from each boy, so that St. Nicholas might fill it with treats for them. Lucky for me, he already stopped by, so I was able to snap a few photos of their goodies!

Inside the gnome bags are walnuts, pecans, and a few chocolate covered cashews. The felted handmade soaps will go inside the bags; I only took them out for the photo. Inside the slippers are St. Nicholas shaped chocolates!

I hope you all have had a wonderful start to the holiday season. Blessings!

Happy St. Nicholas Day!!!!
