Due to plenty of wonderful happenings in the school, we just got around to Aidan’s rainbow bridge ceremony this past week. This is such a lovely, serene, and reverent event. All the children are so incredibly attentive. Quite a few know the story so well that I could hear them reciting it under their breath. The [...] Still silly. We started off your birthday morning with a babywearing meeting at the park. Then off to lunch at zpizza. Next up was a ‘surprise place,’ also known as the bike shop, to acquire a very special birthday bike, helmet, gloves, and a bell. After a short ride, it was time [...] In our home, on this birthday morning, the birthday child gets dressed and heads right over to the dining room. The birthday ring, birthday crown, and a birthday gift awaits him there. The birthday boy gets to don his crown as we sing to him. After blowing out the candles, he gets his gift and [...] Dear Oliver, You will always be my baby Ollie. You love to dance by shaking your little behind from side to side as far and as fast as your hips will take you. Your smile is ever present and contagious. You have your daddy wrapped around your little finger. The sound of your laughter brightens everyone [...] We’ve been busy. Catapulting paint-filled balloons and watching them splat on umbrellas.

I can’t believe my baby boy is already three years old! Yes, I know. Everyone says that about their kids every single year, but it’s true. He has grown up before my very eyes, yet it seems like it’s only been a blink of time. I remember wondering what his little voice would sound like. [...] Life is happening so fast right now. It seems we just had Oliver’s birthday and now it’s time to celebrate Aidan’s third year. Wow, how time flies! We snuck back down to Louisiana this year to celebrate with family. While we were there, we took the boys to their first ever Mardi Gras parade and [...] I’m working on a little something for the birthday boy. I’d like to applique and/or embroider something in the center, but I’m not sure what. Maybe sign it ‘from Mama’ and 2010? I’d love to hear your ideas. Look at those corners! Not bad for my second ‘quilt.’ |
