I’ve felt quite neglectful when it comes to ‘homing’ up our space. Nary a window has curtains; there’s not a rug to be found, save the bathrooms. It all takes time, I know. Our living room is especially bare-boned with only a couch, loveseat, chair, and antique sideboard turned changing table. There’s also a fireplace, [...] Finally! You’ll no longer hear me whine and complain about my old machine and I being at odds. I still haven’t decided if I should bury it or donate it, but I have no intentions of ever using it again. I want to extend the warmest welcome to my new Janome MC6600. This machine should more [...] I’ve been keeping the boys busy outside as much as possible to help use up all that amazing childhood energy. With the cold weather and bikes that need to be ridden, I needed something to keep the boys’ exposed hands warm but still keep their fingers assessable to ring their sweet little bells and pick [...] I’m glad to report that today Aidan is even more back to his old self. He skipped his nap today, so he must be feeling better. One of the things that was special to him during his down time was his ‘healing pillow.’ I mentioned, in this post, what a comfort it was for him [...] As mentioned in my previous post, I finished the R2D2 hat that was originally meant for my sweet, patient husband. Well, almost. My sewing machine is acting up. Thank goodness my knitting needles have no mechanical functions that break down or get fussy. That said, I do have a few FO’s that I can share with you. It was so exciting to wake up to the first day of fall with a cool front (66 F!) and a nice rainstorm. It wasn’t too long before we were able to make our way to a bounce house for some inside play while the weather settled. Tomorrow we hope to go [...] I have been itching to knit Ollie a ‘waldorf hat’ for quite a while. They are pilot style hats that come down a bit in the front and cover the ears. I think they look precious on babies and are wonderfully functional as well. I had meant to save it as an autumn equinox gift, [...]
